Common :Shared
There is one Church in Knoxville and Jesus is the leader of that church. We share one faith, one baptism, one Spirit and one mission. We exist to partner across the city to make room at the table for more family.
Knoxville, Tennessee
Jesus is building His Church in Knoxville, and He invites us to build it with Him. We gather in homes, dorm rooms, coffee shops, gyms, and anywhere there is room to pull up one more chair.
He is at the head of the table, and there is a seat for you.
Common : Shared
Jesus is the one building His Church here. We’re here to serve what He is already doing, not compete with it. That looks like hosting spaces for connection, worship, prayer, formation, and community all across the city. Every church expression carries its own strengths, and every one of them matters to Him.
Jesus taught us to pray “Our Father.” Paul called believers brothers and sisters. The church in the New Testament looks a lot less like an event and a lot more like a family.
They shared meals. They carried each other’s burdens. They prayed together and lived closely connected lives. We think people still need that kind of space today, where you’re actually known, encouraged, challenged, and cared for by people who show up.
Church and family can happen just about anywhere. Wherever people gather in the name of Jesus to love God and love each other, the church is present, because He is present.
What we mean by common
Three words that hold the whole thing together.
There is one Church in Knoxville and Jesus is the leader of that church. We share one faith, one baptism, one Spirit and one mission. We exist to partner across the city to make room at the table for more family.
We want to see Knoxville knit together in love across cultures, denominations, and generations as one Body under Jesus. Walls coming down, real relationships forming, and His life multiplying from one table to the next.
The table of the Kingdom isn’t reserved for the polished, impressive, or professionally qualified. God builds His Kingdom through ordinary people who simply say yes.
The heart of it
A table is a spiritual family gathered around Jesus, a place where we come to meet Him together.
Some tables are hosted under the care of Common Table. Others are led by spiritual mothers and fathers already doing this work. We are not trying to build one big central gathering. We just keep making room, and He keeps multiplying what He starts.
What we have watched is the Church growing strongest through deeper relationships rather than bigger platforms. And it grows because He causes it to.

Transformation is His work in us. It happens through consistent community and shared life, not just through showing up to events.
Once a month the whole city comes together to worship, pray, and celebrate what God is doing in Knoxville. It’s centered on His presence, unity in the Body, and encouragement across generations and church backgrounds.
Smaller gatherings pop up all over the city in homes, venues, and public spaces. Word travels through the tables.
Shared meals, volleyball nights, run clubs, gatherings in homes, dorm rooms, gyms, coffee shops. Wherever there’s a table, there’s space to meet with Jesus and to be known, encouraged, and cared for.
Classes, one on one coaching, discipleship, and hands on training. We want to help every person grow in identity, discover their calling, and live on mission in everyday life. Formation isn’t just something we learn. It’s something we practice together.
With Him, not for Him
Jesus is not looking for volunteers to run something on His behalf. He calls His Church a bride and brings us into the work alongside Him. Whatever happens at a table happens with Him and because of Him.
From the very beginning He told us to be fruitful and multiply. That is still His heart. What He starts at one table He grows, and then He sends it out to start another, until there is room in this city for everyone He is calling.
The tables are not the thing. He is. We just keep making room for Him and watch what He does with it.
Pull up a chair
Maybe you’re looking for a family to belong to. Maybe you’re ready to open your home. Either way it starts September 11. Tell us a little about you, we will save you a seat at the meeting, and someone will reach out personally before then.
You don’t need to have it all figured out or show up impressive. Come as you are, meet with Jesus, and be known by people who will keep showing up.
You don’t need a title, a curriculum, or a big house. Just a willingness to make room for the King and for people.
Come sit in on our September 11 meeting. We will walk through what a table actually is, what Jesus is doing around them across Knoxville, and how you can be part of it with Him. No commitment. Just come and see.
